How to Shine in Front of the Camera

Let’s be real - most of us feel a little awkward when it’s time to step in front of the camera. The good news are that a great photoshoot is all about capturing you, your true personality, and the natural moments in between. Here are my top tips to help you feel your best on the day of your shoot:

  • Forget about the camera and focus on the moment. Whether you’re here with loved ones or just yourself, enjoy the time. I’ll be there to capture the real, authentic moments that shine through when you are just being you.

  • Remember - it’s about connection, not perfection. I’ll take care of the details to create beautiful, natural photos. Just show up and trust me.

  • Let me know if there is anything that helps you feel more secure! Whether it’s a favorite side, preferred angles, specific poses, or anything that makes you feel self-conscious (like a spot you don’t want highlighted), I’ll make sure to keep it in mind. Your comfort is my priority, and small details make a big difference!

  • Wear something you feel amazing in, something that feels like you and suits the location. If you feel good, it will show. Neutrals, soft color are always winner. For group photos, try to choose colors that complement each other. Coordinated colors create a balanced, natural look without matching exactly.

  • Bring a few personal items like a favorite jacket, hat or piece of jewelry - it can make you feel at ease. Trust me, for family shoots, bringing a child’s favorite toy or blanket is also a great way to keep them comfortable.

  • Try to not schedule anything immediately after the session. It’s important for both of us to feel relaxed, without stressing about time.

That’s it! Remember, you can always contact me if you have any questions or need more advice - I’m here to help!
